General Public House in Winter Springs

The General Public House is by far my favorite locally owned restaurant in Winter Springs and the Orlando area. The food is always amazing, service is top notch, and the staff are very personable. Their fried chicken dinner is some of the best fried chicken I've ever had: flavorful, juicy, and has just the right amount of crunch. Plus you can get it for brunch with their chicken and waffles (ask for the donut waffle instead of the regular one).

One of the first meals we've eaten out in the last 4 months. Masks were required as well as social distancing. Started with the Breads and Spreads, warm bread sided by pimento cheese, honey butter & garlic butter. It's been so long since I've had buffalo chicken anything I went with the odd bird sandwich. Huge piece of buffalo coated chicken that was delicious. Solid looking bun, but too much for me so I 86'd it.

Went last night for a casual night out with my girlfriend. We just had appetizers and wine but they were all great. especially the fried pimento cheese. WOW. Atmosphere is comfortable and the staff was great. Our server was very attentive and friendly. I wish we had caught her name. If the manager reads this please track down who was serving tables in the back around 7 pm on 3/4/20. She was wonderful. Very helpful in making suggestions. For the readers, you gotta try this place if you havent. Food quality above average. You will not regret it.

Went here today with my boyfriend and was blown away! The food was fresh and amazing. We shared a few small plates: cornbread, fried pimento cheese, chicken tenders and lobster cakes. You could tell everything was made from scratch and the flavors were well thought out. Our server was helpful and attentive. I highly recommend The General Public House!!!!

I decided to have a nice evening dinner with friends at The General Public House. It was absolutely amazing!! Our server Raven was so kind, professional, and did not miss a beat with over 8 orders of food and drinks. Not once did we have to ask for any refills, she was on point. The manager Dirk also came over and asked how everything was going. I was very impressed and so were my friends. We definitely will be going back!!

Outstanding food, friendly staff and great atmosphere. I got the Redfish sandwich and my wife had the shrimp and grits. Everything tasted fresh and the flavors were fantastic!

If I could give it no stars I would. The customer service is horrible and the other 5 of us have been waiting for almost an hour to sit down. Two other groups the size of us have been seated first before us. I work in customer service and I do much better than they do.

So my husband and i ordered food from here for our anniversary because all the good things we've heard about them. We were told it would only take 15 min for our food to be ready, almost 30 min later we received our food very cold for something that wasn't ready on time???? I ordered the Florida Lobster cake, this is something i order alot and ive never had so much shell in it that i wasn't able to swallow it. Every chew, every bite was full of shell. Honestly the taste was great, but i would have liked to enjoy it in my tummy as well. Definitely not worth the price of not being able to actually eat it. My husband ordered the Public house club with fries. The fries were cold, like out of the refrigerator and tasted old and stale. We will not be going back....
